In this newsletter I bring a progressive, analytical and irreverent approach to three topics: US politics and foreign policy, the politics and history (and occasionally culture) of San Francisco and baseball. My writing draws my experience working in American political campaigns, in various aspects of foreign policy, as a professor of political science and as a lifelong baseball fan. I have written for CNN, NBC, Reuters and many major newspapers and sites in the US and Europe, but I am moving to a Substack because this format allows me to offer my best analysis directly to you the reader. I will write three columns a month on each topic. So, if you have a deep interest in baseball, politics and San Francisco, this Substack will be a perfect fit for you. However, even if you are interested in only two of these topics, or just very passionately about one, I think you will find it worthwhile.
You can subscribe for no fee or for a modest fee of $6.25 a month/$60 a year. I know there is a lot of free content on the internet, but if you like my work and value my perspective, insight, writing style or anything else about my writing, I urge you to choose a paid subscription. Writing does not cost me very much, but it takes a lot of time-and more paid subscriptions will buy more of my time. So, if you can afford it, I would be grateful if you would become a paid subscriber. Paid subscribers will eventually get a bit more content as well, but I also want those with less disposable income to have access to my writing, so most of the content will remain free, at least for a while.
I am also hoping to build something of a community so if you subscribe, please feel free to comment on my articles. I look forward to our discussions.
Thanks,
Lincoln
