Three for the Hall
The newest inductees to the Hall of Fame will be announced soon, but these three players have made enormous contributions to the game on and off the field.
In recent years, the Hall of Fame has inducted some very good players including Harold Baines, Ted Simmons, Jack Morris and Jim Rice. From a statistical perspective all these players can charitably described as borderline Hall of Famers. Additionally, none contributed anything to the larger history of the game, with the possible exception of Jack Morris’s game seven of the 1991 World Series, that would bolster their candidacy.
