I really want to like Daniel Lurie. The one time I met him he seemed like a decent, friendly and surprisingly modest guy. He even flattered me by suggesting I was much younger than I am. Additionally, we both went to the same high school-and in San Francisco those things matter. During the campaign, while I did not always agree with Lurie on his positions, and thought his fetishization of crime was sound politial strategy but nonetheless disingenuous, he struck me as a very smart man whose passion for San Francisco was evident.
