Israel and the Evolving Definition of Genocide
The legal and political definition of genocide has always been imprecise.
There is a photograph I have seen in a few articles about anti-Israel demonstrations and antisemitism on college campuses. This photograph was from a protest at UC Berkeley and shows somebody, presumably a student, holding a banner that says “Bombing children isn't self-defense. It is genocide.” Bombing children is a terrible thing to do and something that should be avoided at all costs. It is also could have been avoided, or at least minimized, in Gaza, but it is also something that occurs in conflicts around the world and is absolutely not prima facie evidence of genocide.
